In 2019, a group of researchers in social work from Linnaeus University, Malmö University, and Lund University began to gather around a common interest in research on municipal labour market policies and/or social assistance. Based on this interest, the knowledge environment Aktiv was created.
A knowledge environment, just like a research environment, is a context for conducting and discussing research. Through research, scientific knowledge is produced and disseminated but we also problematize and independently relate to a changing practice. This is where research has its role. In this knowledge environment, issues of education/skills development become central, just like collaboration with those in society who use, make political decisions about and provide municipal labour market policy services and/or financial assistance.
As researchers at Aktiv, we are involved in various activities designed to conduct and disseminate research. We carry out research projects, which generally relate to the following areas:
- Social assistance
- Municipal labour market policy
- The service user’s position and social citizenship
- Intimate partner violence and handling of social assistance
We also provide contract education courses for professionals in social assistance and municipal labour market policy. Additionally, we provide annual conferences with research-based lectures, which are also recorded and presented on this website. We also have a podcast, “Fråga Aktiv”, which raises questions and dilemmas which you as listeners inquire about. Do you and your colleagues have a question about municipal labour market policies or social assistance? Take the opportunity to ask us in Aktiv! One or more researchers will discuss and try to answer the questions in our Aktiv podcast.
On this website you will find information about the research and education that Aktiv’s members conduct. The website is continuously updated with news, research outputs and exciting information. We hope you find something here that interests you!
